Dental Fluoride Treatment

Fluoride contains fluorine, a natural element that helps strengthen tooth enamel and prevent decay. Fluoride can be found in toothpaste, mouth rinses, gels and other dental products.

Children should use an ADA-approved fluoride toothpaste, and brush twice a day. Parents should dispense the toothpaste to ensure your child gets the right amount. A tiny smear for children under two years, and a pea-sized drop for children 2-5.

For patients who are at a higher risk for tooth decay, fluoride treatment is available here in our office. Treatment may consist of fluoride gel-filled-trays or a fluoride varnish, which is painted onto the teeth.

Adding a fluoride treatment to your dental routine is like giving your teeth super powers. In fact, studies have shown that since fluoride has been added to community water supplies, tooth decay rates have gone down over 50%!
